What to build
Win on reliability alone, then market it explicitly against the incumbent.
Complaint themes
Crashes & stability
Basic reliability is missing; this is the cheapest wedge to out-execute on.
Great App now crashes
App needs update
Data loss & sync
Trust-destroying failures; users will migrate to anything that is provably safe.
Used to be great
Lost all of my recordings.
Aggressive paywall
Value is gated before users feel it; trust is destroyed at the worst moment.
Disfunctional app
Didn’t work at all very disappointed
Onboarding barrier
Users churn before reaching the value moment; better onboarding lifts retention.
Great App
records with no difficulty...
